What is Live?

Brand-new in 2022, Live is a livestreaming feature where you can join a community of awesome, interesting people looking to connect! On Live you can interact with other daters by watching their livestreams or streaming yourself. It’s a great place to connect with people in real-time, whether you’re looking for something romantic, new friends to chat with, or both.

Who can use Live?

We’ve partnered with MeetMe and Skout to bring you Live. On Live you’ll interact with OkCupid, POF, MeetMe, Zoosk, and Skout members via livestreaming, messaging, and viewing profiles.

How does Live work?

Be as active or inactive as you want on Live—although we find most like to really engage with the community! To get started, all you have to do is click on the Live icon on OkCupid, accept the terms of use, and you’re ready to interact. There are lots of ways you can use Live:

• Watch a livestream. Some of our most popular streamers host daily shows and chats.

• Go live yourself! What are you waiting for? Simply tap Go Live! on the Live home screen. To see who’s viewing your stream, tap the eye icon.

• Chat with streamers and other viewers by sending messages in the stream you’re watching or hosting. 

• Send a gift to a streamer you like and favorite them! Receive gifts from fans when you livestream, too.

• If you ever want to get off of Live, simply disable it in your Settings.

How can I send a gift?

After you’ve purchased Live Credits, you can send a gift to any streamer you like. Simply go to their stream, tap the gift icon, and choose which gift you want to send them.

How can I favorite someone?

If you really like a streamer and want to be able to easily find them again, favorite them. While you’re in their livestream, tap the star icon and they’ll be added to your Favorites. Go to your favorites by clicking on Favorites at the top of the Live home screen.

To remove a Favorite, tap the star icon again to remove them from your Favorites list.

How can I filter and search on Live?

Click on the filter icon on the bottom right of the Live home screen. From there you can filter for options like whether or not you’re looking for someone close to your age, and what languages you’re interested in connecting in.

If you’re looking for a particular streamer or streamer description, click on the search icon in the top left. From there you can search by name or description. Searching by description helps you find streamers who share your interests.

What is NextDate?

NextDate is an interactive speed-dating game on Live. When you play NextDate, you’ll ask prompted questions to your “contestants” and if their answers pique your interest, you can take the conversation to a private chat. Play NexDate or view someone else’s by clicking Date at the top of the Live home screen; from there, you can be their next contestant if you’d like.

What is BlindDate?

BlindDate is a special mode in NextDate. The person playing NextDate can toggle on BlindDate so they can hear their “contestant” but not see them since they’re blurred. As the interaction continues, the person becomes less blurry, but they are not fully revealed until either the time runs out or the streaming host chooses to “date” them.

Be Respectful & Safe

Harassment, bullying or inappropriate behavior of any kind is not tolerated. There are specific MeetMe community guidelines for Live that you can find here.

If a streamer you are viewing breaks any of these community guidelines, report them by tapping the triangle with the exclamation mark in the top right of their stream. 

If a viewer posts violent or inappropriate comments during your livestream, report them by first tapping on their name and then the three dots on the right. Here you will find the option to report them.
