Gender-Identity Inclusive Design on OkCupid April 26, 2022 00:02 Updated It's really important to us to make sure that OkCupid is inclusive and works for everyone. Here are some of the design features we've released to help people of all gender identities feel welcome and comfortable. Inclusive Gender and Orientation options OkCupid was the first dating site to offer expanded gender and orientation options, way back in 2014. With 22 genders and 12 orientations to select from, we’re invested in making sure your profile reflects you. We don't assume Pronouns We only use neutral them/they pronouns when referring to other people on OkCupid. You will never see us assume the gender of someone else. We also allow people to add their own pronouns to their profile. You can change your name and gender any time You're not stuck with the name you signed up with. We link your OkCupid profile to a userID number, but your display name and gender identity is completely under your control and can be changed any time. We use a gender neutral placeholder image All profiles without a photo get this image. It's actually the silhouette of Ashley, a designer who worked on our initial product design for including more gender and orientation options. If you still need help, you can email a friendly human.
