Why are prices in US dollars?

We try to show prices in your local currency where we can. However, we're not able to do that in all instances, and so the default is to show US Dollars when we can't show local currency. This is because OkCupid is based in the US.

In addition to the conversion rate from your local currency to USD, there may be additional fees imposed by your financial institution or taxes imposed by your government for purchases made in US dollars.
